June 2001

Thursday, June 28:

I'm doing great!  Quit a bit has happened since I last wrote.  My "new chapter" is flying high.  I have complete control of my life again.  Wow, what a wonderful feeling.  Ben, my housemate, got a job and moved to Gettysburg, PA leaving me with the whole house to myself (as well as the bills)!!  Needless to say, I'm looking for a place to live.  We had a going away party for Ben this past Sunday.  It was a good time.  We had alcohol, fire, and spray paint for Ben's ambulance!  Also, I got hired on as a permanent member of the Sharon Speedway fire crew.  That has been a blast!  At the top of it all is the surprise visit from April.  When she heard of the hard time I was having breaking free, she took off three days of work and drove up here all the way from Atlanta, GA.  We spent most of the weekend together.  What a fun time!!  Thank you so much for everything!!!

Monday, June 18:

Thus begins a new chapter.  Today is the first day of the rest of my life.  I finally said goodbye.  It was something that needed to be done a long time ago.  This has been destroying me since January.  How do I feel?  Bittersweet is the best word to describe it.  I am quite sad that I lost her, but again, I am relieved that it is finally over.  Thank you everybody for telling me I deserve better (because I definitely do)!!  I'd like to send a special thanks to April for being there for me all hours of the day and night.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Thursday, June 14:

Happy belated birthday, Cathy.  I have no need to worry, though.  She doesn't know how to use a computer (like I'm ever going to talk to her anyway).  Here's a question:  Is God out to get me?  Why am I being dragged through this time and time again (you know what I'm talking about).  I'm completely tired of feeling this way, but my stupid @^%$@! heart gets in the way.  Well, I'm gonna have one more beer, then try to get some sleep (wishful thinking)  :-(

Wednesday: June 6:

Yes, I'm still in sunny North Carolina.  A brief thunderstorm is passing, so I thought I'd write.  My word for today is friendship.  Sometimes you find the best friends in the strangest ways.  Little did I know when I was shooting pool that  I was about to meet a future good friend.  Thanks Lissa.  Scene two:  Little did I know while sitting at the bar downing shots that I was about to meet another future good friend.  Thanks April.  You know, friends like these are invaluable.

Friday, June 1:

Greetings from Sunny North Carolina!!  We left last night at 9:13 pm, and arrived safely here at 7:10am.  Barring a few incidents (numerous deer and a flying semi-truck wheel) the trip was uneventful.  My first day here was nice.  It was sunny and in the low 80s.  The water was warm and the waves were rollin!!  I went on a little 15 mile bike ride after dinner to stretch out the legs.  I need to get going.  I'm heading out to a local bar with my brother Jason and his wife Vanessa.  So you ask, "Is life good in paradise?"  YES, LIFE IS GOOD HERE.
